Sandy Abiad is the Tow Policy Advocacy Fellow with the Katal Center for Health, Equity, and Justice. She grew up with a passion for justice and social change.
Prior to joining Katal, Sandy worked with several non–profit organizations focused on empowering women socially and economically. During her undergraduate studies, her research focused broadly on sex trafficking of women and girls refugees during times of political instability.
Sandy obtained her undergraduate degree from the City University of New York’s John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She is currently working towards her Master’s degree in International Crime and Justice. She is the Secretary of Zonta International and serves on the board for i3f: Imagine X Inspire X Innovate Foundation.
Following the completion of her Master’s degree, Sandy’s ultimate goal is to continue her work in non-profits, particularly focusing on women’s rights.
