Overdose Prevention

Accidental drug overdose is now the number one accidental death in the United States; more than 70,000 people die every year from accidental overdose, impacting hundreds of thousands of people every year. In the face of the opioid overdose and addiction crisis, communities are demanding new approaches to drug addiction, overdose prevention, and access to treatment.

Across Connecticut and New York, Katal is working with communities to change laws and develop harm reduction oriented interventions to save lives and improve safety and health. This includes training communities in harm reduction and overdose prevention, developing community leadership teams, and supporting access to healthcare.
