Katal at 5
This year marks Katal's five-year anniversary, and on Monday March 29th, we're hosting the first event in our Dialogue Series - can you join us?
We launched Katal in early 2016, with big goals to build movement leadership and organizing capacity and end mass incarceration and the war on drugs. We hit the ground running and haven't stopped since.
Since we can't gather in person to mark and celebrate our first five years, we're doing something a bit different. We're hosting a series of public dialogues, online, about the broad themes that drive our work: equity, health, and justice.
We're hosting our first dialogue on Monday March 29, 2021, from 5:30 - 7:30, with an amazing lineup of speakers:
- Reginald Dwayne Betts, Founder and Director, Million Books Project, author of Felon, and poetry editor for The New York Times Magazine;
- Kassandra Frederique, Executive Director, Drug Policy Alliance;
- Danielle Sered, Executive Director, Common Justice, and author of Until we Reckon: Violence, Mass Incarceration, and a Road to Repair.
We'd love for you to join us. I promise the conversation will be lively, fun, and engaging. (If you've ever joined one of our monthly statewide criminal justice reform calls, you know what I mean.) Register here for Katal at 5, on Monday 3/29.

We couldn't have made it this far without your support. We hope you'll come mark this anniversary with us at the Dialogue Series on Monday, March 29th.
Thank you to our Katal at 5 Dialogue Series Sponsors.
