Dajuan Wiggins is an Apprentice Community Organizer with the Katal Center for Health, Equity, and Justice. As a long time resident of Norwalk, Connecticut, he has always committed himself to serving his community through volunteering with youth programs and building youth led community organizing strategies with faith leaders. He has served as a board member of the local organization, Serving all Vessels Equally.
Prior to joining Katal, Dajuan worked as a Youth Community Organizer in Norwalk, and Lead Organizer with the Youth Council for Justice as part of the original Perrin Family Foundation’s
BLOC Cohort. His community organizing efforts helped young people formulate campaigns on eliminating the school-to-prison pipeline. Additionally, he has worked on adult and juvenile criminal justice issues and police accountability with local youth and leaders. Dajuan’s education and experiences as an impacted person have given him an understanding of organizing and collective movements which greatly aided his organizing work.
Dajuan holds an Associate’s Degree in Human Services from Norwalk Community College. In his free time, Dajuan enjoys playing basketball, going to auto auctions, and spending time with his children. He is a poet, business owner and the youngest of three siblings.
